49ers TE George Kittle (knee) says he feels 'fantastic'

George Kittle began his postgame Zoom call by loudly declaring: “I feel fantastic. Fantastic. Not an issue at all.”

If there was an issue, it appeared to be with his left knee, which seemed to get hyperextended on a hit by safety Budda Baker just before halftime. Baker crashed into the knee just as Kittle descended after leaping for a high pass from Garoppolo. The tight end left the game and was examined on the bench and in the locker room by the team’s orthopedic surgeon but played throughout the second half.

“I know he went out with a lower leg injury,” Shanahan said. “They don’t get into specifics with me. At halftime, he told me he was good to go, so he returned. I’m sure we’ll find out a little bit more (Monday) morning when he comes in.”

Fantasy Impact:

Kittle wasn’t targeted at all after halftime and he finished with four catches for 44 yards. The team’s No. 2 tight end, Reed, finished with two catches for 12 yards. Kittle seems to be OK after coming back in the second half, but it's worth monitoring.
