Kyle Shanahan said that the 49ers were planning to rest Jerick McKinnon all along.

Fantasy Impact:

Would have been nice to know... McKinnon didn't get work until Wilson suffered what looked like a serious injury to his ankle. The reason the 9ers gave was it was due to his heavy workload in some games earlier this season. With Wilson's status up in the air, at best, for Week 8, McKinnon should be back in the picture along with the rookie Hasty. With Coleman on the verge of coming back, he could also enter the picture to make the backfield situation even more cloudy.

Eagles ruled out WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) for Sunday against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a bit of a crapshoot as to who the "WR2" on the offense will be, but now that he's ruled out, Brown and Goedert should get a nice boost to their bottom line. That would lock Goedert into a no-doubt TE1 role in Week 12.
