Ravens injured rookie outside linebacker Sergio Kindle ...

Ravens injured rookie outside linebacker Sergio Kindle is traveling to Baltimore today from Texas to be examined by neurologists after fracturing his skull in late July and being sidelined for training camp, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

The second-round draft pick from the University of Texas is scheduled to undergo a series of neurological exams.

Kindle will have to pass a physical before he can be signed to an NFL contract.

As an unsigned player, Kindle isn't currently on the roster and hasn't been given any designation as far as the reserve physically unable to perform list.

Kindle is extremely upbeat about his prospects and hopes to be playing football as soon as October. That can't happen until three things happen:

1. Kindle is medically cleared by doctors.

2. He signs a contract.

3. He gets back into football shape.
