Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 13
The holiday didn’t really give us much time to disconnect from the league’s news cycle. At least 10 players across the league were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list in the past week with roster moves made as late as Sunday afternoon. The fantasy community was adjusting to the news all the way until lock with continual updates on the Baltimore-Pittsburgh game. We still had a Sunday filled with games, but Week 13 is already shaping up to be fluid with scheduling impacts extending from Week 12. I’ll provide updates as I can, but let’s dive into the takeaways from Week 12 before reviewing the plays for Week 13.

Week 12 Review
It was an up-and-down week for the streamers. Matchups and projected play volume were accurate for the most part which provided a floor for most of the recommendations in Week 12. However, Derek Carr’s absolute implosion against the Falcons was unexpected given his past few performances. Let’s take another look at the Raiders’ bad day, but it was good to see more usable results off the waiver wire.
Top Streamers
- Philip Rivers –17.8 pts (QB12)
- Derek Carr – 0.6 pts (QB32)
- Teddy Bridgewater – 11.8 pts (QB19)
Deep Plays
- Andy Dalton – 12.3 pts (QB21)
- Daniel Jones – 10.4 pts (QB22)
- Baker Mayfield – 18.4 pts (QB10)
Week 12 was just an inexplicable performance from not just Carr, but the entire Raiders’ offense. Josh Jacobs lost a fumble. Carr himself lost three fumbles along with throwing an interception as the bottom completely fell out for Las Vegas. A team that was scoring 33 points per game over their last three managed just two field goals against a secondary that allowed 233 yards to Taysom Hill the week prior. The hope is that the Raiders were victims of variance and can bounce back with a positive performance in Week 13.
Rivers showing up in the Top 12 was somewhat expected given the matchup and projected pace of play. Mayfield showing up in the QB1 ranks is a pleasant surprise. Without any weather concerns, Mayfield was able to get the Browns’ passing game back on track with a solid performance. Cleveland’s upcoming schedule will likely keep him in consideration throughout the playoffs with their next four games against opponents in the bottom half of the league in adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Mayfield has another positive matchup in Week 13, so we’ll be talking about him more shortly.
