Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt had caught at least one pass in eight straight games heading into this season, but he was shut out against Oakland. In fact, he didn’t have a pass thrown his way.
It hasn’t been a great past few months for Britt. He arrived out of shape at OTAs, didn’t manage to unseat Nate Washington or Justin Gage, and suffered through a handful of drops in the preseason finale.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher said after the preseason contest that Britt needed to improve his focus, but said that Sunday’s goose egg had nothing to do with a lack of concentration.
"That had nothing to do with his focus issues,’’ Fisher said. "We had (only) 17 pass attempts.’’
He makes a good point. Gage, for example, had just one pass thrown his way and it was not complete.
