The 49ers will be forced to dip into their reserves Monday night against the New Orleans Saints to fill spots at right guard, receiver and returner.

Receiver Ted Ginn (knee) and starting guard Chilo Rachal (shoulder) did not practice this week and are not expected to suit up for the 49ers against the 2009 Super Bowl champions. Ginn is the 49ers' No. 3 wideout and top choice to handle punt and kickoff returns.

Dominique Zeigler will take over as the 49ers' No. 3 receiver. Rookie Phillip Adams and Zeigler could be used on punt returns, 49ers coach Mike Sinlgetary said. Tight end Delanie Walker and receiver Josh Morgan are options on kickoff returns.

Adams is listed as questionable with a hamstring pull. If he is unable to play, the 49ers would be thin at cornerback. Veteran Will James is also out of action with an ankle sprain. Adams was the 49ers' fourth corner in the season opener and he plays in the 49ers' "speed" package that incorporates six defensive backs.

With Rachal out of action, the 49ers are expected to turn to Adam Snyder, who played the entire second half against the Seahawks. Veteran Barry Sims is also an option, Singletary said. Tony Wragge played eight snaps filling in for Rachal before Snyder took over for the remainder of the game.
