Cowboys optimistic QB Dak Prescott (calf) will play Week 8

Mike McCarthy said the MRI just confirmed that Dak Prescott has a right calf strain. He will rest this week. The medical staff is “optimistic” he will be able to play against Minnesota after the bye week.

Fantasy Impact:

The bye week comes at the right time for the Cowboys. We may not hear a whole lot more about Prescott's status until later next week, but so far the news seems promising. Still, owners may want to start thinking about a backup plan for Week 8 - just in case.
