Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 7 Targets

I can’t tell if we have more injury storylines to follow than there are teams on bye this week. Week 7 was set up to be a tough week with many of the most productive offenses out, but injuries add a whole other layer to setting our rosters. Luckily, we don’t have any streaming quarterbacks to worry about there, but let’s take a look at last week’s results before getting into the upcoming week.

Week 6 Results

Full transparency, the process should have made Davis Mills *at least* a player to consider last week. I didn’t expect Mills to repeat his Week 5 results, but at home against the Colts defense that just allowed 400-plus yards to Lamar Jackson crossed my mind. Doubt anyone would’ve started Mills (I wouldn’t have) but personal biases shouldn’t cloud the recommendations. Even if the results worked out.

Week 6 Streaming Results
Type Player FPTS Rank
Top Play Taylor Heinicke 9.3 25
Deep Carson Wentz 17 14
Jared Goff 8.2 26
K.I.T. Trevor Lawrence 15.9 15

I still think the process was right on Heinicke but the results didn’t match. He was at home, on a high-paced offense, in a game with a high team total, against a poor secondary. But whether it was due to injuries or his own limitations, Heinicke wasn’t the same on Sunday. Honestly, Washington’s game plan wasn’t the same as it had been in previous weeks.

Their neutral pass rate had been 58.6% from Weeks 3-5. However, for their first four drives against Kansas City, it fell to 47.4%. Things didn’t shift until they were gifted additional drives by an interception and fumble from Patrick Mahomes. Plus, after five weeks of having at least one rush attempt, Heinicke had none. Not even a scramble. I’ll talk about him in a bit, but I’m willing to chalk this one up to a bad game.
