Panthers wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett said his agent Drew Rosenhaus asked the Panthers for a trade or release after the draft.
“My agent has worked on that behind the scenes,” Jarrett said. “We had a couple of talks about a couple of things. Of course, they don’t want to let me go or anything like that because they feel like I can help out the team. I guess it’s a matter of me getting that opportunity to help out the team.”
At the time Jarrett was unsure of his standing with the team, especially after the Panthers drafted three receivers in April.
Jarrett said Thursday he hasn’t approached the team recently about getting out of the remainder of his one-year contract, even though he was inactive last week against Cincinnati.
