With LeSean McCoy out indefinitely with a broken rib, the Eagles have contacted the Bills about the availability of veteran running back Marshawn Lynch, a league source said today.
McCoy suffered one broken rib during the Eagles' 17-12 loss to the Redskins Sunday at the Linc. Andy Reid did not say how much time he will miss.
Lynch has fallen out of favor in Buffalo after rushing for over 1,000 yards in his first two NFL seasons, 2007 and 2008. He went to the Pro Bowl in 2008 after rushing for 1,036 yards and eight touchdowns and catching 47 passes for 300 yards.
This year, he has just 37 carries in four games for 164 yards for an 0-4 Bills team that lost 38-14 to the Jets yesterday.

Lynch, 24, played at Cal with DeSean Jackson.
The Eagles will have to do something if McCoy can't play this week as Mike Bell is the lone legit RB on the roster. Eldra Buckley has seen limited time as a Bird, but already fumbled once this season.
This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Birds, but going with Michael Vick at QB shows the Eagles have changed gears, as does their interest in Lynch. And why not, with Dallas at 1-2 and the Giants and Redskins not exactly impressive, the Eagles could win the division.
