David Clowney think he can be a fast study for the Carolina Panthers.
He's just hoping the Panthers see him as something other than fast.
Clowney, claimed off waivers from the New York Jets on Tuesday, said he felt good about all the repetitions he took with the first and second team in Wednesday's practice with his new team.
"I got a lot of reps today in practice," he said. "A lot of reps with the ones and the twos. I think it's coming along real fast. I'm a quick learner, so I don't think I made any mistakes with the reps I had."
Clowney was released by the Jets when Santonio Holmes was reinstated from a four-game suspension this week. While it might have seemed like a writing on the wall transaction (especially since the Jets released him and re-signed him earlier this season), Holmes said it went against what he had been told by Jets management.
