The agent for disgruntled New England guard Logan Mankins said his client is happy about his team’s 3-1 start, but he wouldn’t say if Mankins would be joining his teammates any time soon.

Frank Bauer, in his first public comments since mid-August, left the door wide open on whether the two-time Pro Bowler would report soon or at all in 2010. If Mankins returns with six games to go, he receives an accrued season toward free agency, and reports have indicated Mankins would show up to do so.

Bauer wouldn’t say as much.

“Who knows?” Bauer told the Herald. “Who knows? He may. He may not. You may see him tomorrow. (laughing) It is what it is. Whatever happens, happens. Whatever falls, I’m always ready.”

Asked to discuss the mention of “tomorrow,” Bauer first said he “can’t say” if the two sides are talking, then later clarified that “nothing’s happening.”
