Perfect Fantasy Football Draft: 10th in a 12-Team Yahoo Half-PPR League
Drafting from the 10th spot puts me right in my favorite draft area this year. At the back end of the draft, I’m able to focus on a couple of great wide receivers and then let the draft come to me. If quarterbacks go early, I have no problem stacking position players and then grabbing a signal-caller late.
In the Yahoo half-PPR format, I am paying more attention to volume tight ends and third-down backs than I am in standard scoring leagues, but I’m chasing volume wide receivers a little less than I would in a full-PPR format. For example, I’m more interested in Diontae Johnson in a full PPR league.
In this article, I will walk through my favorite players in each round that should be available to me based on Yahoo ADP and discuss my overall draft strategy from this spot.

My Plan of Attack When Drafting 10th
Roster Settings: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 DEF, six bench spots
Obviously, I like to draft for value and remain open to different draft strategies on the fly, but when I’m drafting in the back portion of the draft, this is my general approach:
- Get 1-2 top-tier wide receivers before addressing other positions – This is a theme for all my perfect drafts. I like the early wide receivers significantly better than the middle and later-tier wide receivers, whereas I like the late-round running backs more than I do in most years.
- Don’t be afraid of a Zero-RB approach – I’m not opposed to taking a running back in the third or fourth round, but I’m also not afraid to wait and pick up some depth players late in the draft. There should be some volume running backs available as late as double-digit rounds this year, and there should also be some pass-catching backs available for spot starts.
- Don’t reach on a quarterback or a tight end – Quarterback is very deep this year, and tight end is top-heavy as usual. If I miss out on the top guys, I’m not interested in reaching just to fill the position. Both spots are streamable, and I believe you can get an excellent quarterback in particular, even in the double-digit rounds.
