Fantasy Football Defense Streaming Week 1: Starting Off on the Right Foot
We’ve all been there. You’re sitting in your draft and someone reaches for a defense way too early. Defenses are notoriously tricky to project year-over-year. Some of the best fantasy defenses of the last decade have turned in performances where they benefited from turnover luck one year and ran dry the next. Reaching for defenses isn't something I'd ever recommend during draft season. When drafting, I treat the defense spot on my roster as a revolving door, and I’m specifically drafting for Week 1 or the first few weeks of the season when I leave my draft.
As we work our way through the season, this article will serve as a place to identify streaming options. The only criterion is that the teams we discuss are rostered in less than 40% of leagues. Each week, we'll track our picks and see how our results stack up compared to a replacement-level defense.
