Fantasy Football Streaming Defense Targets Week 6: Fly, Eagles Fly

Streaming Defense Targets Week 6

I felt a lot better about streaming defenses last week and it paid off as all four picks were top-12 defenses on the week. I think this is another good week for streaming defenses as two of the top options on the week are both in streaming consideration.

With the Chiefs, Vikings, and Dolphins all on bye and rostered in over 60% of leagues on Yahoo leagues, this will be a big week for streaming. You don’t want to spend much, if any, FAAB on defenses, but if your main defense is on bye it is imperative to not completely whiff on the top options this week.

Week 4 Review

There were no negatives to speak of this week as all four picks for Week 5 finished as top 12 defenses on the week. Our top option last week, the Green Bay Packers, finished as DST5 on the week against the Rams. The Broncos, our top deep streaming option, finished as DST2 on the week against the Raiders as Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell couldn’t stop turning the ball over. Even in a loss, the Seahawks still finished as DST7 thanks to the fumble at the goal line by Eric Gray that was returned for a 101-yard touchdown. Rounding out our defenses last week, the Patriots finished as DST11 thanks to 3 sacks and 3 forced turnovers. Overall, we’re at 13 hits and 5 misses this year.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cleveland Browns

Rostered in 37% of Yahoo Leagues

At this point, anyone facing the Browns is a must-start until a quarterback change is made and even then Jameis Winston has been known to turn the ball over himself. Deshaun Watson is a disaster at the moment and this Browns offense is not a functioning NFL offense.

The Washington defense had 8 sacks all season and finished with 7 on Sunday. The offensive line isn’t healthy, the wide receivers aren’t separating, and the Browns aren’t using Jerome Ford enough. That’s on top of the issues that Deshaun Watson presents on a weekly basis. Philadelphia’s defense hasn’t had more than 7 points in a week this season, but it stands to reason they have a shot to top that this week.
