Fantasy Football Defense Streaming Week 9: Attacking Bad Offenses
Getting out ahead of these good and bad weeks and things playing out how you expect is a really good feeling. The ups and downs of fantasy football, just like anything in life, can take a toll. While things have been chaotic in the rest of my fantasy choices, I can safely say I’ve played defenses better than at any time in my life this year.
Doing the research and putting things in writing has helped and I hope it has helped you too. Admittedly, this does not feel like a great week for streaming as the 49ers and Steelers are on bye and some of the best options are going to be lower-scoring fantasy DST’s that are in positive matchups.

Week 8 Review
We hit big on two of our top three defenses of the week as the Chiefs and Chargers both finished as top 6 DSTs this week. The Packers weren’t a dud, but they weren’t a big hit either. They finished as DST13 on the week, so outside of the top options, but a usable week.
However, the shining star of the week was our deep dive pick with the Detroit Lions as they finished as the DST1 on the week in large part thanks to Kalif Raymond’s heroics in the return game.
Overall, we’re at 22 hits and 7 misses this year.
Top Defensive Streaming Options for Week 9
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Rostered in 53% of Yahoo Leagues
Trevor Lawrence has been sneaky good the last few weeks after a pretty poor start to the season. Unfortunately, at the exact moment, he starts playing well, all of his top receivers could be out this week. Christian Kirk is likely done for the season and while Brian Thomas Jr. is day-to-day, it didn’t sound like a lock he’d be good to go this weekend.
The Eagles have been playing sneaky good defense the last few weeks and have been a top-10 DST since their bye. The Jaguars are 17th aFPA against opposing defenses. So while it isn’t an explosion spot for the Eagles, it is an opportunity to take advantage of a banged-up offense and a quarterback that has had his struggles this year.
