If the 2-6 Broncos lose this week to Kansas City, it seems fair to say their 2010 season is officially doomed and it will be time to give some younger players increased playing time.
However, one of those younger players should not necessarily be rookie QB Tim Tebow. His reasoning? Kyle Orton, not Tim Tebow, is the Broncos' QB of the future. When the team gave Orton a one-year, $8.8 million extension with a $5.5 million guarantee in August, he received virtual assurance he would be the Broncos’ quarterback in 2011.
There is sentiment for perhaps starting Tebow in the season finale but it is not as if the Broncos have to get him ready for next year.
