Colts Dominic Rhodes was back home.

"Oh, man, glad to be back; so glad," said Rhodes, who agreed to a free agent contract. "I guess it's hard to say I'm back in Indy, third time, and I'm happier than the first time. It's just awesome."

Rhodes took the roster spot vacated by cornerback Jerraud Powers, who was placed on injured reserve. Powers had six screws and a plate implanted in his right forearm Tuesday during surgery to repair a broken bone suffered Sunday against Dallas.

Rhodes' signing could indicate Joseph Addai (neck), who has missed the past six games, will not be ready to play at Tennessee on Thursday and possibly longer.

Addai was a limited practice participant Tuesday, when backup running back Mike Hart (ankle) did not work out.
