Washington allowed more than 400 yards for the fifth time this year during last Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys in Dallas, and the defense is now allowing an average of 397.6 yards a game. Only nine teams in NFL history – just two since 1983 – have surrendered more yards per game during the course of a full season. And because of injuries, the Redskins will be starting six backups on defense. The good news for them is that Jacksonville will be without RB Maurice Jones-Drew, whose right knee remains swollen. But that doesn’t mean the Jaguars will abandon their running game. They have confidence in Rashad Jennings and Deji Karim, the two reserves.
