The Patriots (13-2) have the No. 1 AFC playoff seed locked up and, if last year’s finale is any indication, that means it’s a chance for some reserves to gain valuable experience.
Don’t be surprised if backup QB Brian Hoyer has a repeat of last year’s game, when he entered in the second and fourth quarters to attempt to lead scoring drives. Yet he spoke cautiously about the prospects of it, because one never knows what coach Bill Belichick will do.
“I got to take it like any other week and just be ready whether it’s the first quarter or last series of the game,” Hoyer said.
We still like Brady's upside, but you just never know when it comes to players playing in meaningless games.
