The team moved into the second round to select Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas, who could ultimately serve as Ronnie Brown’s replacement. Brown will become a free agent whenever the league year opens for business.

A physical back with the potential to be an every-down player, Thomas also has some intriguing pass-catching abilities that could also make him Brown’s successor if Miami continues to implement the Wildcat offense.
