Foster leaves practice with a tight hamstring

Pro Bowl RB Arian Foster, the NFL's rushing champ a year ago, left the Houston Texans' morning practice Friday as a precaution.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Foster, 24, who also led the league with 2,220 yards from scrimmage in his first season as a starter, was bothered by a leg muscle. He played through a torn meniscus in 2010.

"He told me his hamstring tightened up, so I told him to get out,'' Kubiak said. "You've got to remember (players like Foster, who are just returning to practice) haven't been doing anything, so that's why we had a clock on all of them this morning. Any sign any one of them not being quite ready to go, we were pulling them.''

Fantasy Impact:

This is probably nothing to worry about, but anytime the potential #1 overall fantasy pick leaves practice, it's going to be news. Hamstring injuries have a tendency to linger, but Foster has plenty of time to get healthy before Week 1.
