The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t hesitate to share details with the media regarding the status of defensive tackle Mike Patterson, even though he has a potentially serious medical condition that, according to initial indications, potentially would have required brain surgery or radiation.
In contrast, the Eagles are saying nothing about receiver Jeremy Maclin, who continues to be absent from practice due to an undisclosed - and possibly unknown - health condition.
An answer could soon be coming. Coach Andy Reid told reporters on Sunday that Maclin is "still going through some stuff and once the tests are in I’ll let you know."
To be clear, Reid said that Maclin is "still being tested." Which means that the team, and Maclin, don’t know what was wrong.
With Maclin being a top-level fantasy receiver, fantasy owners need to continue to monitor this potentially fluid situation.
