His meeting with Roger Goodell went well, Kenny Britt said, and he expects to learn this week whether he will be punished for some run-ins with the law during the 4½-month NFL lockout.
“He didn’t scold me or anything. He was happy — not happy that I was in there for those situations — but he’s a nice type of guy, a very likable guy,’’ Britt said at Nashville International Airport. “We’ll find out sometime later this week what he decides to do.”
Britt said the commissioner asked about his offseason troubles and made it clear he wanted to do what’s best for the league as well as for Britt and his family.
“He asked me questions about certain situations and I told him what happened,’’ Britt said. “I think it went well. I hope so. I have a smile on my face, I am still breathing. So everything is good.”
Titans guard Jake Scott, the team's NFL Players Association representative, said Monday the union would challenge any fine or suspension for actions during the lockout.
“I'm still hoping nothing happens to me,” Britt said.
If Britt ends up being suspended for 1-2 games, it won't be a big deal for fantasy owners. Britt has been going for a discount in the 6th round or later all offseason and that's a good spot for him with that type of suspension. If Goodell drops the hammer (via a 4-game suspension), then Britt's stock will fall a bit further. The WR also has a hamstring issue, but talent-wise, he's a 3rd/4th-round pick. There are much safer options in the 3rd-5th, but he's a high-upside WR3 in the 6th/7th.
