Late-Risers: Where should owners target them?

T.Hightower

It's that time of year again. Players that were sleepers just a couple of weeks ago have hit the mainstream and with the hype train in full force, they're going earlier and earlier in fantasy drafts. Want to wait until the 8th or 9th round in a 12-team league to take Tim Hightower as your RB3? He's probably going to be gone and you'll be looking at LaDainian Tomlinson as your bye week fill-in.
With this in mind, I compiled some recent ADP data (drafts starting 8/25 or later) and compared it to drafts from early August (8/1 or later). Here are five of the biggest movers along with my draft day strategy for each. (Note: Data from recent drafts is included in both sets, so their rise is even more pronounced than the numbers show.)

Tim Hightower (+18.0 picks in PPR, +14.7 in Std)

There is no bigger mover than THT in recent days. He has a firm hold of the Redskins' RB1 job, and not only has he put the competition to bed (at least for now), the Washington running game looks to be in great shape. His current ADP is in the middle of the 7th round, but owners should be prepared to use a 6th or even a 5th round pick to get him on draft day. From a value standpoint, he's worth a 5th round pick per 4for4's Value Based Rankings (VBR).
