Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak had some thoughts on how he determines which running backs to use on Sunday.
"Well, I just believe you go in with the rotation, but if one of them is playing well, he plays," Kubiak said. "That’s the way I believe. If I like the way a guy’s playing and he’s not tapping his head, he’s going to stay out there for a while, so we’ll see how that pans out."
It's important to remember Kubiak has a PhD in running back by committee from Mike Shanahan University. We expect Derrick Ward to be the most productive back if Arian Foster doesn't play, but owners starting Ward could be in a bind if Ben Tate gets hot. If you are really deep at running back, don't feel obligated to force Tate or Ward into your lineup.
