When St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danario Alexander was...

When St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danario Alexander was sidelined during training camp, doctors gave him the option of having another operation, an arthroscopic clean-up procedure on his troublesome left knee. He declined.

"I wanted to make sure I made this team," he said. "If I would've had my knee scoped, I couldn't have gone out there every day and practiced, and that would've hurt my chances. I felt like since it's not altering me or hurting me or anything, I can keep playing through it."

A sixth surgery or not, Alexander's knee never will get better, according to Rams head trainer Reggie Scott.

"He does have a lot of degenerative changes," Scott said. "That means things over time, wear and tear, that are not going to change. So we're trying to maintain what we have. And he understands that."

Fantasy Impact:

It's a shame the knee has cast a spell over Alexander's promising career. With St. Louis having upgraded at the receiver spot, he's off the radar in redraft leagues. And he's no longer a legitimate dynasty league prospect.
