Though Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas is still working his way back to full strength from a hamstring injury, he said on Wednesday that he’d be comfortable with carrying a larger work load.

“I think so,” he said. “I feel like I get better each and every game. I wasn’t quite the same this past game as I did [in previous] weeks, from missing the last game. So hopefully I can get back on track this week. But I feel like I can handle a bigger work load.”

Thomas sat out the Dolphins loss against the Chargers in Week 4 with that hamstring injury. He didn’t practice that week leading into that defeat. He also missed the season-opener against the Patriots. It was the hamstring, again.

It started bothering him late in the preseason. Still, Thomas has had success when he’s been able to play. He averaged better than 100 yards rushing in his first two games. He ran for just 41 yards against the Jets, but did have a couple of nice runs – including one for 13 yards.

Thomas said his hamstring held up “pretty well” on Monday night.

“I didn’t have to come off for re-aggravating it or anything,” he said. “It wasn’t 100 percent yet but good enough for me to play and everything. So it felt good.”
