FanDuel Week 9 Freeroll: Looking for Value
John Paulsen, Contributing Editor
We're continuing our weekly $500 freerolls at FanDuel -- think you can beat our very own Josh Moore? If so, you'll win a cool $5, maybe more if you score big. All you have to do is assemble your team in FanDuel's weekly salary cap format. Enter now.
A few weeks ago we debuted a new tool for subscribers that identifies the best FanDuel values in any given week. The lower the $/Point, the better the value. Here are the first few rows of the table so you have an idea of what it's all about.
Let's take a look at the top 5 values at each position for Week 9:
QBs
1. John Skelton ($351)
2. Tarvaris Jackson ($387)
3. Carson Palmer ($402)
4. Michael Vick ($412)
5. Aaron Rodgers ($420)
It looks like the value is either in the El Cheapos (Skelton, Jackson, Palmer) or the studs (Vick and Rodgers). If you're looking for a mid-price guy, check out Josh Freeman at $7,400.
RBs
1. Fred Jackson ($408)
2. Arian Foster ($422)
3. Mike Tolbert ($447)
4. Jackie Battle ($462)
5. Steven Jackson ($471)
All different price levels are represented in the top 5 list of RBs. Tolbert figures to get a lot of work but has a bad matchup against a pretty tough Packers rush defense. Battle is coming off a nice Monday night OT win over the Chargers. There are three interesting names at #6-#8, but you'll have to be a subscriber to see those. (We've just reduced our rest-of-season price to $14.95, which is a small price to pay for this kind of an edge at FanDuel.)
WRs
1. Wes Welker ($454)
2. Mario Manningham ($495)
3. Jonathan Baldwin ($496)
4. Victor Cruz ($505)
5. A.J. Green ($523)
Buyer beware with Welker, he is questionable for Sunday's game, but should play. Manningham and Cruz are both great buys this week with Hakeem Nicks likely out.
TEs
1. Jimmy Graham ($564)
2. Jake Ballard ($573)
3. Owen Daniels ($610)
4. Jermichael Finley ($630)
5. Brent Celek ($631)
Once again, Graham should give you WR production at a good value. Ballard is a great El Cheapo option considering his output the last few weeks and the Patriots' inability to stop the pass. The Browns have struggled against TEs which is why Owen Daniels makes an appearance at #3. Brent Celek plays on Monday night has has had two good games in a row. It seems like Michael Vick is finally looking his way with some consistency.
