Eagles OC Marty Mornhinweg did suggest quarterback Michael Vick could play Sunday night against the Giants at MetLife Stadium, even without practicing this week.
Vick didn't practice again on Thursday as he nurses two broken ribs sustained in last week's loss to Arizona. In his place Thursday, backup quarterback Vince Young ran the first-team offense for the second-straight day.
Still, Mornhinweg thinks Vick can take the field against the 6-3 NFC East-leading Giants.
"Yeah, he's a tough man, and I'm always optimistic with him," Mornhinweg said. "He's doing everything possible to get ready for the next game -- both in the training room as well as in the classroom."
It would be tough to trust Vick in Week 11 due to the risk of re-injury, but fantasy owners with no other good options can plug him in and hope for the best. Either way, this is looking like a game-time call and the Eagles play on Sunday night.
Update: The Wilmington News Journal is reporting that Vick has already been ruled out for Week 11. Stay tuned.
