"No matter what this year turns out to be, I still feel I'm the best back in the NFL," Titans RB Chris Johnson said on a conference call this week.
In the past month, he has had games of 130, 190 and 153 yards.
"I ain't really tripping," Johnson said. "You look at the numbers this year, I'm having a really bad year and I'm (still) not too far away from the pack."
The Titans are 30th in rushing yards per game. Johnson ranks 16th in the NFL with 875 yards.
"It's a situation where (if) me and my linemen are on the same page and I'm having a better year, there's no problem for me being up there as the top running back in the league," he said. "Me having a down year and still being right there in the pack is sort of a situation that will keep me up."
