The Cowboys drafted DeMarco Murray in the third round last year, and he wound up as the team’s leading rusher despite missing most of training camp with a hamstring injury and then missing the final three games because of a broken ankle.
Owner Jerry Jones said Murray’s power separates him from Felix Jones.
“He’s just harder to bring down than Felix,” Jones said. “Felix has the quickness, the vision and can get outside. But Murray did bring that dimension of power, and there’s probably not five pounds’ worth of difference between the two. But he finishes. He’s just so powerful into the finish. And there’s no question that he really gave us a lift last year.”
