The San Francisco 49ers agreed to a one-year contract with former New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, a league source said Wednesday.
Jacobs will pair with starting running back Frank Gore. He rushed for 571 yards (3.8 YPC) and scored seven TDs in 2011.
Fantasy Impact:
Jacobs will impact Gore's workload, especially around the goal line, where he has a reputation for being a good short-yardage back. This is definitely bad news for Gore. However, barring a RB addition, Ahmad Bradshaw is looking much stronger as the feature back for the Giants.
