Packers battle at tight end

There will be another intriguing position battle at tight end, where up-and-coming youngster Jermichael Finley could unseat Donald Lee as the starter. Philbin said Finley is much improved from his rookie season in 2008.

"Jermichael is a much better player," Philbin said. "A year ago he was a 21-year-old kid from Texas. He didn’t know first base from third base. And so, he’s just a much different guy. He’s walking around the building like a different person. We’re excited, he’s making very good progress."

As for other offensive players that stood out during the offseason besides Finley, Philbin mentioned rookie lineman T.J. Lang (see below) and wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Brett Swain.
