It makes sense for Stevan Ridley to be the main man between the tackles, and Bill Belichick clearly believed he had someone to fill that role when he decided to let BenJarvus Green-Ellis walk. But Ridley has to prove he can get past the fumbling issue that ended his rookie season.

Shane Vereen got a ton of playing time during offseason camps, and his role will increase significantly this season if he stays healthy. Vereen’s hamstring set him back in a big way as a rookie, when he only had 15 touches, but he’s an athletic player who has a track record of embarrassing defenders when he has the ball in space.
