The Giants feel there is a need for RB DJ Ware to gain more field awareness as his workload potentially increases this season and, for when he has a hole or open field in front of him, to get downfield like Brandon Jacobs used to.
The 6-foot, 225-pound Ware might be the best option to provide power running and, as he showed on a twisting second effort for a 2-yard touchdown in the first quarter of Friday’s game, he can get his momentum moving forward quickly.
The Giants already have Ahmad Bradshaw and David Wilson gaining most of the attention leading up to drafts. Having Ware as the goal line back would surely take TDs away from both players, but that's the way most teams are going these days anyway. Ware probably isn't worth a pick right now, but it sounds like if he gets things together, he could take on a change-of-pace role, much like Jacobs used to be.
