Steelers RB Mendenhall off PUP list

Even though he is off PUP, Steelers' RB Rashard Mendenhall is not expected to be ready to play regular-season opener, could miss most of Sept.

Fantasy Impact:

Our own Dale Lolley, longtime 4for4.com scout who covers the Steelers, agrees, and said today he "can't see Mendenhall doing much for a while." Owners are likely to jump on this and take a shot on Mendy before he really should go in drafts. Roster spots are precious, especially in the early season, so unless you have a deep league Mendy could just be sucking up space for a while unless you can IR him. The upside can be great though. Taking him at the right time in your draft will be the key.

Per Bears head coach Matt Eberflus: Ryan Bates remains in the concussion protocol. Elijah Hicks (ankle) and D'Andre Swift (groin) won't practice.

Teven Jenkins will be limited.

This is definitely a situation to keep an eye on, as Johnson would have a huge workload if Swift were to miss Week 12. Homer has three rush attempts and zero targets on the year.
