The Titans took wide receiver Kenny Britt off the Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday, clearing the way for him to practice with the team next week.
The NFL could delay Britt’s return, however. The fourth-year pro is waiting to find out whether Commissioner Roger Goodell will suspend him.
Britt has had eight run-ins with the law since the Titans drafted him in 2009, including an arrest on a DUI charge last month, and he was summoned to Goodell’s office twice in the past year.
Britt passed a physical on Tuesday and will be added to the active roster today. He won’t play in Thursday’s preseason finale against the Saints.
The suspension might be a blessing in disguise if it gives Britt an extra week or two to recover from his knee scopes this offseason. Britt's ADP has slipped into the 8th round and at that price he is worth a pick. In his last 12 games, Britt has averaged 4.7 catches for 87 yards and 1.0 TD per game. That extrapolates to 75–1394–16 over the course of a full season, which are top 5 numbers. We wouldn't recommend him over safer options like Torrey Smith or Pierre Garcon, but if they are off the board Britt is worth the risk especially since owners can buy insurance in the form of Nate Washington, who would make a solid WR4/WR5 even if Britt is playing.
