Despite missing over half the loss in Tennessee with an injury to his left Achilles, Rashard Mendenhall believes he has chance to play in Cincinnati. Mendenhall said the injury wasn’t a tear or sprain.
“It was just irritated,” he said.
After missing the first three games as he recovered from off-season surgery on his right knee, Mendenhall rushed for 68 yards and caught three passes for 33 and a touchdown in the Oct. 7 pass win over the Eagles.
“It’s a little tight,” said Mendenhall, who didn’t practice Monday. “I'll just continue to work on it and get treatment. Hopefully, it will get better. But I’m planning on being able to play (against the Bengals).”
Be sure to monitor the Steeler RB situation as Isaac Redman is also a little banged up. Jonathan Dwyer would be in the mix if Mendy and/or Redman can't go.
