Three days after Rex Ryan benched Mark Sanchez, the head coach named the embattled signal caller his starter for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars and left little doubt that this was probably the biggest decision of his head coaching career to this point.
“It was a decision that I feel great about,” Ryan said before practice on Wednesday. “I got a lot of opinions. I had conversations with a lot of different people, but at the end of the day, it’s my decision. I’m definitely comfortable with the decision. I’m actually looking forward to seeing Mark play.”
“It’s one where obviously I have to get this decision right,” Ryan added. “And I believe I have.”
Greg McElroy and Tim Tebow will remain on the bench, at least to start this one. There's no fantasy value to be found in any Jets QB.
