Titans quarterback Jake Locker will have surgery in the near future to repair his non-throwing shoulder, sources familiar with the situation said.

Locker missed five games after dislocating his left shoulder twice in the first four games.

He initially suffered the injury while making a tackle in the season opener against the Patriots, but he played the following week wearing a harness. When Locker injured the shoulder the second time, at Houston on Sept. 30, he also fractured a bone at the front of the shoulder.

The surgery is expected to sideline the second-year pro for several months, but there’s a chance he could participate in minicamps in May. The team’s offseason program begins in April.
