David Wilson told the Daily News Thursday that he recently had minor hand surgery to remove a bone chip in his palm.
"It happened awhile ago," Wilson said. "I didn't want to do it, like, before the season. But it was already chipped. So (they) just take it out so it won't be floating around."
Wilson was still sporting several black stitches running from his palm down his wrist on Thursday. The injury is hardly serious, though, he said, and he's not expecting to miss any time because of it. In fact, Wilson said he has been training at the Giants facility the last several weeks.
With Ahmad Bradshaw out of the way, the Giants will turn to a David Wilson/Andre Brown backfield in 2013. While Wilson is getting most of the press, keep in mind that Brown was playing ahead of Wilson when healthy. Brown will at a minimum get most of the goal line touches, putting a dent in Wilson's upside.
