New York Newsday: Authorities searched the New Jersey home of
Plaxico Burress last night and found two guns and the clothes the
Giants wide receiver was wearing when he accidentally shot himself
in the leg last month, according to multiple reports Sources cited
in those reports said detectives from the NYPD, officers from the
Totowa, N.J., Police Department and investigators from the
Manhattan district attorney's office discovered at least two
weapons - a 9-mm gun and a loaded rifle - along with ammunition
and the clothes from the Nov. 29 incident at the Latin Quarter
nightclub in Manhattan. Sources also said that no permits for the
weapons were found. According to one report, Burress was not at
home at the time of the search. Burress faces two felony charges
of weapons possession from the shooting incident. The star WR, who
caught the game-winning TD pass with 35 seconds left in Super Bowl
XLII, was suspended by the Giants for 4 games and placed on the
season-ending non-football injury list.
