At a pretrial hearing today regarding the DUI arrest of Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch last July in Oakland, it was re-affirmed that a motion to suppress evidence will not be held until Nov. 1, and that a jury trial won’t begin ntil Dec. 27.
Lynch earlier pleaded not guilty to two charges from the arrest, which included driving while having a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Lynch was not disciplined by the team for the arrest, and with the current timeline, it’s possible the case will not have a resolution until late into this season, or possibly until after the season. Any NFL discipline wouldn’t happen until after the legal process has run its course.
The DUI is basically a non-factor at this point heading into the 2013 season. If Lynch is disciplined, it won't be until next season. He's a solid RB1 in both standard and PPR formats. The only concern at this point is that the Seahawks are less focused on the run with the arrival of Percy Harvin.
