Redskins RB Alfred Morris did not hold on to the third-down role he coveted. The physical and mental components of pass blocking often are difficult for a rookie to master against complex, fast NFL blitzes.

Morris was physical in pass protection and improved as the season progressed, although the zone read option reduced the frequency at which he was required to pass block. Training camp repetitions should help him continue to get comfortable.

Fantasy Impact:

Roy Helu will be back in the fold and it seems like he could continue to have a role in third down situations. That was really the only drawback to Morris' season in 2012 - a lack of involvement in the passing game. Still, Morris is a top-ten back in standard leagues, coming in 6th. It seems like the team wants to ease back a bit on Morris' workload.
