Michael Vick received the initial chance to play with the first-team offense during practice Friday in his battle to win the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback job.
Nick Foles opened with the second team to start while fourth-round pick Matt Barkley was with the third team.
According to multiple reports, Foles did eventually run with the first team.
New Eagles coach Chip Kelly said Tuesday that Vick and Foles would split the reps at the beginning of training camp and that he would have a starter named by the time he's planning for Philadelphia's Week 1 game against the Washington Redskins.
Vick taking the first of the first team reps could mean that he's in the lead, or it could just be a courtesy given his tenure in the league. Foles also saw significant first team reps. Stay tuned.
