Coughlin: Hakeem Nicks' groin injury "frustrating"

Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks sat out practice on Thursday, the first full practice he's missed thus far in training camp.

Nicks injured his groin on Sunday, in the Giants' second practice of camp. He worked on a limited basis on Monday and Tuesday. The team was off on Wednesday.

It seems like a step back, but coach Tom Coughlin did not sound too concerned. "It's a day-to-day type thing," Coughlin said.

Coughlin wants Nicks back on the field as soon as possible, obviously. "It's frustrating, but I've gotta learn to control myself when it comes to that as well, and just realize, you know what, he's trying like heck to get out there," Coughlin said. "He knows he needs to practice and work at it. He came in excited about being able to go, and then had this little groin injury which I hope is not gonna set him back for very long. But they're obviously taking all the necessary precaution."

Fantasy Impact:

Nicks is a 3rd/4th round talent when healthy, but his nagging injuries have pushed his ADP into the 5th round in recent drafts. Rueben Randle is looking very attractive as a WR handcuff for Nicks.
