Perfect Draft Series: Drafting 2nd in a 12 Team PPR League

For my first Perfect Draft assignment this year, I get to draft from the number two spot in a 12 team PPR league. The first thing I have to do when I start one of these article is play around with the settings and the different drafting options on PC Drafter. I look at the rankings, I run countless simulations, and then I remember that I actually have work to do.

It doesn’t feel like work though, and soon I was ready to dive into this draft slot. I love the number two spot this year, because I love Arian Foster. With Adrian Peterson the consensus top back drafted this season, Foster is often going second overall and provides a great anchor for any fantasy team. We’ll see who else rounds out my team this year as I get under way.

I used the Performance 2 PPR scoring system and set my Position Min/Max values at no more than three QBs, two TEs, kickers or team defenses, and no more than five running backs or wide receivers. The lineup was based on starting one QB, two RB, two WR, one TE, one K, and one team defense. The positional values were set to standard draft value in order to closely simulate an actual draft.

Round 1, Pick 2 – Arian Foster, RB, Houston
Arian Foster is an ideal one-cut slasher in a zone-blocking scheme that maximizes his talents. He’s been fantasy gold for the past few seasons, and he was elite again last year, rushing for over 1,400 yards, and he led the league with 15 touchdowns. Foster has been one of the most consistent fantasy producers since he burst onto the scene and has caught more than 50 passes in each of the last three seasons. Foster is the unquestioned bell cow in Houston, has a nose for the end zone, and will be an anchor for my team all year.
