Benched on Saturday night, then buried in a crowded backfield Monday morning.

It has been a rough few days for James Starks in his bid to earn a berth on the Green Bay Packers for a fourth straight year.

Alex Van Pelt, who made the decision to pull Starks after he fumbled against St. Louis, cautioned against attaching undue significance to the rotation this week.

"He started the first game," Van Pelt said, referring to Starks. "We're just trying to make sure guys have the right opportunities through rep count. DuJuan's been taking a lot of the reps this week just to catch him up."

Fantasy Impact:

In all likelihood, Starks is battling with Alex Green and Johnathan Franklin for an opportunity to be on the team's active roster. This is shaping up to be a Eddie Lacy/DuJuan Harris backfield.
