Sneaky Starts: Week 3
All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough -- a waiver wire or bench player who is capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.
In Week 2, our Sneaky Starts included Matt Schaub (QB8), Knowshon Moreno (RB3), Lamar Miller (RB13), Ben Tate (RB22), DeAngelo Williams (RB25), Joique Bell (RB32), Marlon Brown (WR22), Cecil Shorts (WR27), Coby Fleener (TE5) and Brandon Myers (TE15).
At 4for4, we use Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) by position heavily in our rankings and analyses. For more detail, click here.
Note: These recommendations do not override our weekly rankings, which are updated throughout the week and weekend.
Rams QB Sam Bradford (@ DAL)
Through two weeks, Bradford is fantasy's #7 QB and is tied with Matt Schaub for second in total pass attempts. The Rams have added several weapons in the passing game -- namely Jared Cook and Tavon Austin -- and they aren't afraid to use them. The Cowboys can score, so this could turn into a shootout if both offenses get rolling.
Bengals QB Andy Dalton (vs. GB)
Dalton is averaging 281 yards through two games, and given his matchup against the Packers this week, he may be in a position to throw as he tries to keep up with Aaron Rodgers and Co. With the addition of Tyler Eifert and Giovani Bernard, the Bengals have the weapons to exploit the Packers' shaky pass defense.
